Animal print T shirt- Zara

Leggins- River Island

Bracelets- Jenny&Co

Pyramid Ring- Jenny&Co

Gold rings- H&M

Earlier today I went to the local post office to post of the giveaway prize, for which I wanted to start today’s article by thanking everyone that took part! It really meant a lot that my readers, you guys, took the time out to participate in my first ever giveaway! For those of you that may be new to the blog, fear not, although it was my first it most certainly isn’t my last! I have another one coming up very soon with the prize I have chosen for you from Jenny&Co.

In fact, I am wearing some of her jewellery in my out fit of the day today, the pyramid ring and my arm candy are all gorgeous finishing touches to my outfit from Jenny&Co. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to my blog, and, well honestly, the jewellery I received from Jenny&Co is gorgeous! The quality of her jewellery is without a doubt of a high standard and it was apparent even from the packaging that great care was taken into every little detail! I’m not going to say more on her beautiful jewellery because I want to do an outfit of the day post more specifically focused on it. So I’m biting my tongue… for now.

My t-shirt was a bargain buy from Zara, one I wasn’t so keen on at first but recently has started to grow on me more and more. Once upon a time any form of animal print was a total no go for me, you’re probably thinking I used to avoid everything, maybe even starting to question what I actually did like to wear? But, I swear it has just been my recent posts that have all the few things I used to shy away from all clustered together making it seem like I never used to wear anything! Not literally let’s not panic! Maybe I should rephrase that to never used to experiment with anything. Which is true, shamefully, I didn’t. However, I do think this t shirt is very easy to style! A very casual top that I can more than comfortably go about my day to day life in. So, is this one a keeper? Most definitely.

I need to apologise for the fact that I look extremely rough today and my break out. For once I cant not blame stress, so I’m just going to blame my appalling diet and lack of sleep!

There you have my very casual outfit of the day, please leave your comments letting me know what you think. I love reading them and if you have any suggestions or questions feel free to leave them below or email me via the contact section. Thank you.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo

As you can probably guess, the first of my priorities after weeks of revising and exams was to hit the high street and go shopping! I feel like for the past month I have been so engrossed in my books that the feeling of being able to do what I want and not constantly eyeing up the time is quite strange. I don’t know if this is a common thing, but, whenever I go through a revision period I’m consciously timing myself doing even the smallest things, like watching TV or making lunch. So this feeling of complete freedom is as much a relief as it is strange.

Although timing wasn’t an issue, as always, money was. So I am pleased to admit, that despite wanting to buy the many gorgeous garments I saw, I resisted the urge and treated to myself to just a pack of rings. With the new craze on midi rings I was feeling a bit left behind. I had wanted some midi rings for a while now and hadn’t had the time to go shopping. So, being a lady of leisure now I seized the opportunity and after spotting a bargain in H&M at only £3.99, I treated myself to the pack of rings.  I know what you’re thinking, really broke the bank there Ammarrah! But my mum always says, “you look after the pennies, the pennies look after the pounds and the pounds look after themselves.” A phrase I’m constantly trying to drum in to my head these days.

Another thing I’m trying to implement when I go shopping which seems to be helping me refrain from the unnecessary overload buying is picturing the clothes pouring out of my wardrobe. With this picture in mind, I then think to myself, will you get your money’s worth? If the answer is no, swiftly move on before your logic runs off  leaving you to spend more money than necessary. Only to have him whack you in the face with your bank statement. You may be wondering what exactly I mean by getting your money’s worth, well, if you already have many outfits you can match with this garment and not a case of, I can buy this and buy that and it’ll go perfectly, because that leads to one big chain reaction leading to spending and more spending… before you know it, you’ll be back to stage broke.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I am going to be starting my youtube channel and once a month I will video logging the items I have bought. I have set myself a limit of 5 items a month and hopefully, fingers crossed, I’ll be able to stick to this.

And there you have another outfit of the day, with another casual look. Please let me know what you think in the comments below, and if you have any questions for the Q&A youtube video please include them in the comments too.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo

Blazer- Zara

Shirt/blouse- Zara

Trousers- Topshop

Bracelets- Primark

Necklace- Topshop

After a long day walking up and down Oxford Street I decided to take a few outfit of the day snaps for you guys. As you’ve probably noticed in the photos, I look drained out to the max and believe me I was. However, you’ll be pleased to know that despite being on the one street notorious for encouraging it’s visitors to senselessly shop till they drop, I restrained from buying anything, despite the extent as to how much I wanted to.

As you can see my outfit today was very casual, just something I could comfortably stroll around London in. I did try and brighten up my monochrome outfit with a bright blazer to add some colour, however, I do think that even wearing a leather jacket and rocking the monochrome look with this outfit would also have worked. The only reason I chose the blazer over the jacket was because the sun was shining, a rare occurrence in British summers and I probably would have melted in the leather jacket. And just in case you were wondering, yes, I am speaking from experience there. In fact I was fairly hot in the blazer and spent most of the day fluctuating between carrying it and wearing it.

To suit the weather though, I was wearing an oversized blouse which was very breezy and really helped me keep cool. So, choosing the blouse today was a decision I wasn’t made to regret. Especially seen as though English weather is so unpredictable.

And there you have it, another outfit of the day, for once a more casual outfit and not me trying to dress up for daytime catch up dates. Please leave your comments below and I really hope you enjoyed the article.

I also take great satisfaction in wasting no time to announce that my exams are now over! I have so many exciting things planned, as well as the fact I am going to be starting my youtube channel! If you have any questions to ask for my question and answer video so please feel free to either email me via the contact section of the blog or comment below.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo

Eid Mubarak- Blessings on Eid

Eid overall

To those of you that will be celebrating, Eid Mubarak, and to those of you just reading the post for bollywood outfit style inspiration, then I hope this is what you were looking for. With Eid creeping up so soon, I thought it would be a good opportunity to do an article on something me and many of my readers will have in common. Before I go into each outfit, I also just need to quickly mention, most of these outfits were designed and ordered by my mum from India, if there’s anything anyone likes or want to inquire about, please feel free to email me.

Also for those of you that don’t celebrate/know what it is about, Eid is an eagerly anticipated celebration, that falls straight after Ramadan, the month of fasting. I usually refer to it as the Muslim equivalent of Christmas in the sense that families unite, share a big feast and presents are given! Presents and money!

Back to the article though, I had the greatest privilege of getting my hair and make up done by GlamouriZe By-Zahira… I should probably put this out there, I’m not usually one for heavy make up and you’ve probably seen yourselves that bold lip colours is about as far as I go. But,  Zahira, the hair and make up artist, did such an amazing job that I didn’t even notice I was wearing more make up than usual. Not one to slate other make up artists because each to their own, but, I was quite scared getting my make up done, as the only other time I had it done, I walked out of the salon looking and feeling like I had just been slapped in the face with a heavily iced cake. Wasn’t the best look for me I have to say. But thankfully, Zahira has overcome my fear thanks to my past trauma and would I get my make up done by hair again? Most definitely!

SEE EACH LOOK IN MORE DETAIL BELOW:

eid 3Personally, I love this as an Eid outfit, red is such a bold colour, doesn’t really require much dressing up because the dress speaks for itself. I have worn this dress to a few family weddings too and a lot of people have asked where I got it from. So credit to my mum for this!

Zahira also kept my make up toned down here so my red lips would be the eye catcher. She explained, how too much on the eyes and too much on the lips would clash and because my dress was such a statement in its self we kept my hair simple too.

Eid 1As much as I love the red dress, I think this one is my absolute favourite! Another one of my mothers, so again, credit to her. The dress is so elegant and just looks classy! I would say this is quite a modern bollywood design, but, being a modern Asian this is perfect for me. (Apologies for the creases but that’s down to me not knowing how to sit properly in the car!)

Zahira did my hair and make up beautifully! An elegant up do to show off the embroidery on the top half of my dress and more eye make up with a nude lip colour. Really loved her choices here!

Eid 2

This dress is the only dress that my mum didn’t design, in fact this dress was a gift from my sister in law on her and my brothers wedding. I’m going to be really honest here, Salwar Kameez (hopefully I spelt that right, the tight dress with baggy style trousers), are not for me! However, after receiving this as a gift, I have actually worn this outfit a few times now and realised just how wearable and comfy they really are. Would I buy more? Probably not, but, only because I love the embroidery and colour on this particular dress and have not really seen others I like as much as this. Maybe that’s why I dismissed the fact that it was a style of dress I wouldn’t normally wear and embraced it.

Because of the details are the front Zahira again decided on a nude lip as well as, not to clash with the gorgeous colour of the dress. She decided to leave my hair naturally curly and I’m used to this, so that was something I really liked.

Eid 4And last but not least, my Sari. I’m just going to put it out there, that I have never seen anyone wearing a Sari like this, but maybe you have, in which case, I should just get out more. Unfortunately, I am no expert when it comes to putting on a Sari, but, honestly, when this is put on properly, it looks amazing!

With this outfit, hair was something I could not put my finger on what I wanted. When Zahira mentioned a pony tail I was a bit like “you what?” in my strong northern accent. But, she insisted I try a few photos and it really worked. I should really learn to trust the experts. A very simple hair style but it complimented my outfit. I tried to include photos with my pony tail here so you could see just how good it looked. If you’re anything like me, a pony tail would be last hairstyle you’d think of matching with an Asian outfit,  but I’m grateful Zahira made me try something different and I liked it!

There you have my Eid article, and for those of you celebrating, I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends and although Ramadan may be coming to an end, if you used this month to change for the better, then lets pray we enforce these changes all year round.

To those of you not celebrating, I hope you liked the post, maybe it can be used for a bollywood fancy dress or if you’re lucky enough to be invited to a Asian wedding. (Believe me, they are amazing!) I will be doing another post from my friends 21st bollywood fancy dress so hopefully that might help too.

Just want to say a big thank you to GlamouriZe By-Zahira for doing my hair and make up for this article. If you’re looking for a hair/make-up artists, then my recommendations definitely go to her!
