Before going straight into the article, I should probably mention my overgrown eyebrows. I usually thread my eyebrows myself, but after my exam period they were so bad I decided to go someone in Norwich to get them done. Biggest mistake ever! I have never seen my eyebrows look so odd, which is devastating for me because I’m so particular when it comes to eyebrows. Now I’m growing them out so I can re shape them myself. In the meantime, thank heavens for eyebrow pencil!

I did this video because it was requested on my youtube channel and I love it when people comment and even more so when people request videos on certain things so I really enjoyed doing this video! Again I was babysitting, however, I seized the opportunity while the little princess was sleeping to quickly film and edit, in order to get this post up as soon as.

I have been doing a lot of casual outfits for my ootds recently so today I did a sort of dressed up day outfit, still border-lining casual but, just with a bit more edge. My necklace was Eid gift from sister in law and I can not express how much I love it. The great thing about statement pieces is you can wear a totally plain ensemble and it’s so perfectly completed by the statement piece. Effortless, simple and stylish.

I hope you are enjoying the blog and the videos and please let me know what you guys think or if there is anything in particular you would like me to a video/article on.

Lots of love…

Before I start the article I should probably mention, today I was babysitting my beautiful niece, who very kindly helped me film today’s video as well as tried at every opportunity to get behind the camera. Wonder who she gets that from…(*blushes*)

Anyway, on with the article… Well, summer went by quickly! I think I can count on my hands the number of times I sat out in the garden. Typical British summer! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and unlike me went on amazing holidays.

To kick off into Autumn I did a get ready with me video, with a slightly warmer make up look and moving out of the pastel coloured clothes to the more warmer colours fitting with the season. Personally, I love autumn, not because I’m an Autumn baby, but, because I’m such a layers person. In fact, when I was younger I was constantly getting told off for wearing too many layers.

I have been wearing my Jenny&Co jewellery way too often, I find it goes with everything and I’m so excited to announce my giveaway on Tuesday so watch out for that! The new addition to my wardrobe, however, is my PVC clutch which I received from Emma Scott that I am totally in love with! I had seen the PVC craze rapidly spreading around and I could not wait to jump on the bandwagon. Emma, who has now completed studying at Birmingham City in Textile design has now started her own unique collection.  She produced a range of designs, creating her own beads mainly using resin and embedding materials to create different colours. You can see more of her collection on her blog and her Instagram and after speaking to her directly I was overwhelmed by her passion for designing. It was very inspiring to hear how much pride she takes in ensuring quality is perceived in her items, as well as, having customers enjoy her work and be enchanted by it! (If anyone would like to contact Emma directly here is her email address- [email protected] )

I hope you all liked my Autumn outfit and get ready with me video. I have had a few video requests and article requests so if you have anything in particular you would like me to feature on the blog, please let me know and if I can deliver it I will be happy to do so! Thank you once again for everyone’s support with the blog and my new addition of youtube videos! I honestly could not have expected a better response from all of you lovely readers, so, thank you!

Lots of love…

As I was going to a wedding at the weekend I thought why not spice up the blog a bit and do a “get ready with me” video. These days the bollywood theme is becoming more and more popular, whether that be for a fancy dress birthday party or if your friend is Indian and sticking to his/her roots with a traditional wedding. If you’re Indian yourself, like me, then you may find that summer consists of one wedding after the other or that may just be the case with me because I’m from such a small town and close knit community. Either way, whatever the situation, you may find yourself in need of some bollywood help at some point, so hopefully here it is!

How I applied my look:

Argan Oil– This is just something I put in my hair to keep it looking healthier, I must emphasise that with this, a little really does go a long way. If you do want to try this I would say the size range to use is pea sized to no bigger than a 2 pence coin.

Tea tree Cleanser– I have oily skin, so I use tea tree to help with my spots and blemishes, if you dry skin then tea tree isn’t the one to use. There are lots of cleansers out there for a range of skin types and by going into your local drug store and speaking to the sales adviser I’m sure someone will help you get the right one for you. This is just a really good way to make sure there’s no dirt on your face before you apply your make up and just keeps your skin looking fresh.

Neutrogena moisturiser– Again, I use this oil free moisturiser because I have oily skin. Using a more oil based cream would definitely result in a break out.

Mac Studio Fix Liquid Foundation- the colour I use is NC44, this is actually a shade darker than my skin tone, but I prefer to use it because I have a lot of marks on my face which helps to cover them.

Rimmel London Eyebrow pencil– I know some people are really into penciling eyebrows and some people aren’t at all, but I use mine mainly on my arch just to help define it. I personally feel like the shape of your eyebrows can change your entire face so penciling my eyebrows is an absolute must for me.

Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner- this is something I started using fairly recently, previous to this I was buying lots of liquid eyeliners and although it took practice going from those to the gel eyeliner, once you get the hang of it, it is so much easier to use. I don’t think I can go back to liquid eyeliner now. I personally think that this is really lasting me, very dramatic and makes a real impact to my face.

Katy Perry Cool Kitty Lashes– these are just one of my favourites from her lashes and personally I prefer her lashes to the Girl Aloud collection that are still on the market even though the band have split up. Although these look quite in your face, after I put them on hopefully you can see that they don’t look super fake, but my lashes just look enhanced.

Urban Decay eyeliner- I used this just in the corners of my eyes, I feel like this really give my eyes that almond shape, if you want to you can put your eyeliner all the way across but personally for the look I was going for  I wanted my make up to more pastels and calm rather than too dramatic.

Mac Blusher– the one I have is called Breezy, which is really dark I know, but it blends well on my skin tone. I do usually bring my blusher up from my cheekbone slightly up to my forehead and in the video it may look like I was plastering it on but after applying i gently press it with my palms to take off any excess. Lets face it, no one wants to look like a clown do they?

YSL Top secrets– this is a lip plumper, I usually use it as a primer under my lipstick and sometime even wear it on its own. Personally I feel like this is an essential to my make up bag and I really do swear by it.

Mac lipstick, Twig– quite a pinky shade and one from the satin range. I really like this, not too in your face and was perfect fr the look I was going for. I usually keep this in my bag as my day to day to lipstick for emergencies.

And there you have it, the look I created which I feel complimented the dress I was wearing. I didn’t want to go too in your face with the make up because the dress itself is very jazzy.

I hope you guys liked my post and please don’t criticise my face without make up too much.

Please leave your comments below, let me know what you think of the post and the video, look forward to reading them.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo

So for today’s outfit of the day post I tried something a little different, added more photos out and about in the hope that the photos themselves tell a story. I mentioned I was going to start doing this just before my exams and now I’ve finally given it a go. Do let me know what you think of this little twist to my ootd posts and if you think this is something I should continue doing.

Me and my cousin went to Leeds City Centre a few days ago and I was able to treat myself at the end of August as I hadn’t shopped for the entire month! I bought 4 of my 5 items on this successful shopping trip and as much as I wanted to buy so much more, I didn’t give in, sticking to my 5 items a month. I should also probably slip in here that my cousin takes a large majority of my blog photos and she does an amazing job, so I feel it’s about time I credited her for it on the site. That’s not to say I don’t credit her in person because honestly I do! I’m so grateful for her and for my friend at uni that takes a lot of my photos too, so kudos to both of them!

Back to the outfit though, as you can see, the outfit was a casual one, something comfortable and practical for the lots of walking we did throughout the day. I should also confess to underestimating the practicality of having a backpack, I had both my hands free which might have contributed to the countless amount of stuff I was carrying to the changing rooms in almost every store we went in.

After our very long shopping trip, we put Starbucks to the test, or should I say I put Starbucks to the test and my cousin lied about her name so it was easier to spell. Even then, they still spelt both of our names wrong, my real name and her fake name. So for today guys, for one day only you can call me “Omara.” (Emphasis on the one day only! I really do not want that to stick.)

Thank you for reading the post and thank you to everyone that has continuously supported the blog! I couldn’t have asked for a better response to my YouTube channel. (If you haven’t seen my introduction video then you can see it here)

And like I always say, please leave your comments and let me know what you think, if you have any ideas, requests or just general chit chat! I love reading everyone’s comments and emails so thank you to everyone for theirs already and please keep them coming.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo
