Sunday was a very Sex and the city day. You’re probably wondering what on Earth I mean, so I’m going to do my best to try explain. You know how Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte (characters of the programme) are always going out for dinner, getting their hair and nails done and just being fabulous. Well I was spoiled by my best friend, Lauren, as a pre- 21st birthday treat and was made to feel fabulous. As you can see from my before and after nail photos, we headed into the city and got our nails done, which was followed by a meal at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant.

I honestly had the most amazing time, felt truly pampered and like always with Lauren, I could just let my hair down, be crazy and reveal my deepest, darkest inner thoughts about everything in my life. (Like one of those Sex and the City dinner scenes, only two of us and not four). But it was so lovely to get treated. And I couldn’t have asked for a nicer pre-birthday surprise.

I included some photos of Lauren and her lovely outfit too, because now we have started living together I like to give my feedback on her outfits, even when they’re not wanted. I can’t help myself. Of course, Lauren is perfectly capable of dressing and styling herself, she looks great, she always does, but I still can’t help but say, “please wear this necklace” or “please wear this dress” I think I’m just naturally quite bossy.

But back to the day, dinner at Jamie’s was just the cherry on the icing of good company and good nails. The food was really lovely and I was definitely stuffed. Highly recommend the place!

There you have OUR outfits, I hope you liked the post and photos. Now I’m going to annoy my gorgeous housemates about how I’m turning 21 tomorrow as if I haven’t mentioned it enough already!

Today I went for an interview, I won’t say where, just in case I don’t get it and because I’m still really unsure as to whether or not I got the job, but all will be revealed in due course. I think I’m just one of those people that can never walk out of an interview or an exam and know how I’ve done.

For my interview outfit I wanted to wear something that really reflected my personality- quirky meets slightly grunge. For interviews especially, what you wear is vital! The minute you walk up to your interviewer they immediately make their first impression from how you’re dressed which is why it was so important for me to get my outfit spot on. I decided not to play it safe with my outfit, I didn’t want to wear something plain because I like to think I’m not a very plain person.

I should probably mention my new boots! I was searching for buckled ankle boots for ages and every time I saw a pair I questioned whether or not they were the perfect pair. I’ve found that now I’m doing the 5 items a month challenge I always think twice before I buy. But I finally found a pair that were screaming my name! I ignored them when I first saw them in Office and thought I’d get over them. But I left with a head full of regret and couldn’t stop thinking about the boots all evening so I went back the next day and bought them. Naughty of me I know, but it’s only one of my 5 items, I still have 4 left.

And there you have my interview outfit, a dogtooth print dress, grunge buckled ankle boots and bright blazer that together all reflected my personality. I will keep you all posted on how the interview went and if I was successful or not. For now I’ll stay hopeful.

Just to finish off the article, I want to apologise for neglecting the blog recently as I have been really busy and had so much to sort out, but I will be back on the blogging and hopefully will be able to get into a consistent routine soon. Thank you to everyone that took part in the giveaway and to those of you that have consistently been reading the articles.

Lots of love…
