Get ready with me, Indian Wedding.

As I was going to a wedding at the weekend I thought why not spice up the blog a bit and do a “get ready with me” video. These days the bollywood theme is becoming more and more popular, whether that be for a fancy dress birthday party or if your friend is Indian and sticking to his/her roots with a traditional wedding. If you’re Indian yourself, like me, then you may find that summer consists of one wedding after the other or that may just be the case with me because I’m from such a small town and close knit community. Either way, whatever the situation, you may find yourself in need of some bollywood help at some point, so hopefully here it is!

How I applied my look:

Argan Oil– This is just something I put in my hair to keep it looking healthier, I must emphasise that with this, a little really does go a long way. If you do want to try this I would say the size range to use is pea sized to no bigger than a 2 pence coin.

Tea tree Cleanser– I have oily skin, so I use tea tree to help with my spots and blemishes, if you dry skin then tea tree isn’t the one to use. There are lots of cleansers out there for a range of skin types and by going into your local drug store and speaking to the sales adviser I’m sure someone will help you get the right one for you. This is just a really good way to make sure there’s no dirt on your face before you apply your make up and just keeps your skin looking fresh.

Neutrogena moisturiser– Again, I use this oil free moisturiser because I have oily skin. Using a more oil based cream would definitely result in a break out.

Mac Studio Fix Liquid Foundation- the colour I use is NC44, this is actually a shade darker than my skin tone, but I prefer to use it because I have a lot of marks on my face which helps to cover them.

Rimmel London Eyebrow pencil– I know some people are really into penciling eyebrows and some people aren’t at all, but I use mine mainly on my arch just to help define it. I personally feel like the shape of your eyebrows can change your entire face so penciling my eyebrows is an absolute must for me.

Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner- this is something I started using fairly recently, previous to this I was buying lots of liquid eyeliners and although it took practice going from those to the gel eyeliner, once you get the hang of it, it is so much easier to use. I don’t think I can go back to liquid eyeliner now. I personally think that this is really lasting me, very dramatic and makes a real impact to my face.

Katy Perry Cool Kitty Lashes– these are just one of my favourites from her lashes and personally I prefer her lashes to the Girl Aloud collection that are still on the market even though the band have split up. Although these look quite in your face, after I put them on hopefully you can see that they don’t look super fake, but my lashes just look enhanced.

Urban Decay eyeliner- I used this just in the corners of my eyes, I feel like this really give my eyes that almond shape, if you want to you can put your eyeliner all the way across but personally for the look I was going for  I wanted my make up to more pastels and calm rather than too dramatic.

Mac Blusher– the one I have is called Breezy, which is really dark I know, but it blends well on my skin tone. I do usually bring my blusher up from my cheekbone slightly up to my forehead and in the video it may look like I was plastering it on but after applying i gently press it with my palms to take off any excess. Lets face it, no one wants to look like a clown do they?

YSL Top secrets– this is a lip plumper, I usually use it as a primer under my lipstick and sometime even wear it on its own. Personally I feel like this is an essential to my make up bag and I really do swear by it.

Mac lipstick, Twig– quite a pinky shade and one from the satin range. I really like this, not too in your face and was perfect fr the look I was going for. I usually keep this in my bag as my day to day to lipstick for emergencies.

And there you have it, the look I created which I feel complimented the dress I was wearing. I didn’t want to go too in your face with the make up because the dress itself is very jazzy.

I hope you guys liked my post and please don’t criticise my face without make up too much.

Please leave your comments below, let me know what you think of the post and the video, look forward to reading them.

Lots of love,

Ammarrah xo
