Keeping it Casual
Disco Pants- American Apparel
Before I started Uni, my idea of a casual outfit consisted of a Primark basic t-shirt and a pair of straight cut jeans. Very basic, I know. The inner fashion guru in me had no idea about the art of keeping it casual and still looking stylish. In fact, if you’d asked me back then if I’d ever wear an army print jacket the answer would most definitely have been no. I can picture my reaction, face all screwed up and shaking my head frantically from side to side yelling, “No way!”
But being more independent, going shopping alone and branching out my style, I tried out so many new things with my camo jacket being one of the many things I have now come to love! When I first bought it, I couldn’t take it off; I was wearing it to lectures, social events and even casual day trips. It just goes to show, the “don’t knock till you’ve tried” was a statement I should have had more faith in.
So, today was a casual day. In fact, I get the feeling this whole month is going to be a casual one. With fasting for Ramadan and my exams coming up I am refraining from the urge to plaster my social calendar and instead get my head down. As I was going into town to pick up a few exam essentials I decided to take a few outfit of the day snaps for you guys.
I don’t know if this is common for all us ladies but, instantly when I look through my wardrobe for something casual, I am always drawn towards the more baggy items. So, wearing my baggy Topshop tee I finished off the outfit with my disco pants, trainers and a camo jacket to add some print.
And there you have it, today’s outfit of the day. Keeping it casual and stylish.
Lots of love…
And remember ladies, “the best thing a woman can wear is confidence.”
